Machine Basics: Ages 8+
One-Time Prerequisite for all Sewing & Fashion Design Classes
- 60 US dollars$60
- North Summerlin
This is a one-time, 3-hour class teaching Sewing Machine Basics for new students preparing to begin a Sewing 101 or Fashion Design course. This class can also be taken independently for those wanting an introduction to the sewing machine and sewing basics, even if not interested in taking other YADCA classes. Course material will include threading the needle, winding a bobbin, introductory stitch practice, backstitching, stitch width & length, etc. Students will also complete a project to take home. This class is now a prerequisite for all new students wishing to begin Sewing or Fashion Design classes. Because of this, enrollment priority is given to those students who plan to continue on to the following month's classes. Students who have taken a recent Sewing/Fashion class with YADCA do NOT need to take this class prior to enrollment. If it has been more than 3 months since taking the Basics without any other YADCA classes in the meantime, we will discuss whether it is recommended to re-take the Basics class as a refresher before beginning another YADCA program. Cancellation Policy: If cancellation occurs prior to the start date of a class, no refund is given unless we are able to fill your spot, in which case a refund is applied minus 10% of the cost of the class. If cancellation occurs after the start date of a class, no refunds are given. If YADCA needs to cancel a course due to not meeting minimum-registration requirements (meaning we don't meet the minimum number of students enrolled to run a class), or for any other reason, you will receive a refund.
