Sewing 101: Ages 8-17
Time & Location
About the Event
This class is for ages 8 - 17 (or 18 if still in high school) and is open to those who have completed our Machine Basics class. Our Sewing program is now a comprehensive + cumulative curriculum that builds on itself in skill over the course of a school year and he skills learned throughout the course are implemented in hands-on projects each month. Because of this, registration is no longer on a month-to-month basis and commitment is required for the full, 9-month curriculum. Our current class in progress is full. A new class may be opening in the coming months with full details TBD.
Projects included in this program will include pillowcases, aprons, hot pads, tote bags, pajama pants, small quilts and more. Skills included will be multiple stitches + seams, straps, pockets, quilting, bias binding, elastic casings and more.
The cost for this class has been averaged out over the course of the 9-month time period (with 34 total weeks and 68 total hours of instruction) so that a flat rate is paid each month whether there are 3, 4, or 5 weeks of instruction in a given month.
3:45pm - 5:45pm
Classes are currently held in a Summerlin home near The Trails Community Center (the community center is at 1910 Spring Gate Ln). The exact address of the home will be provided upon registration.
