Culinary
Become head chef as you learn the fundamentals of cooking & baking, and explore the flavors & cuisines of the world. Our culinary programs are founded on whole food plant-based nutrition. We avoid refined flours and sugars and focus on unprocessed or minimally processed ingredients. More details on this approach can be found in our FAQ section. No experience required and all supplies and materials are included.
Sewing
Learn to sew through hands-on projects such as pillows, aprons, blankets, tote bags and more. The options are endless in these fun classes that promote capability, confidence and creativity! Completion of our Machine Basics class is required for participation. All materials and supplies are included.
Fashion Design
Design and create your own garments as you learn the fundamentals of patterns, textures, sketching, sewing and more. These programs culminate in a fashion show to show off the students' creations. Completion of our Machine Basics class is required for participation. All supplies and materials are included.
About Us
At Youth Academy of Design & Culinary Arts our goal is to cultivate creativity, capability, confidence, health, wellness and fun. We do this through hands-on, engaging programs that provide youth with life skills, fundamental elements of self care and self reliance, and opportunities to express ideas and individuality.
Our Design programs range from basic sewing, to comprehensive concept - to - runway experiences. Youths will enjoy the process of creation as they watch their ideas come to life and then share them with others.
Our Culinary programs are based on whole-food, plant-based nutrition. We avoid refined flours + sugars, focus on whole, unprocessed food, and use organic, locally sourced ingredients as often as possible. At the Youth Academy, we want kids to learn the value of nourishment and help them learn to love foods that will love their bodies back.
The Youth Academy of Design & Culinary Arts is committed to serving the youth and families of Las Vegas as we provide creative, skill-based outlets in an environment of fun, positivity and inclusion.
